Rain Barrel Workshop

Designed for ages 12+. Participants under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

$80 per barrel; max of 4 people per barrel.

Build your own rain barrel at this hands-on workshop and get ready for the next big rain! Tickets are per barrel, and up to four people can work together on one barrel, making it a fun family project. You’ll learn how rain barrels help capture roof runoff, reduce stormwater impact, and provide a convenient water source for your yard. Instructions and tools will be provided, but it does not include materials to connect the barrel to your downspout. You’ll leave with a finished rain barrel, step-by-step guidance, and ideas for how to install it at home.

Please note that your workshop ticket does not include admission to the Maryland Science Center.  All participants and their families will receive a special rate of $15 per person. This discount will be available for purchase the day of the workshop at the ticket desk.  A maximum of 4 discounted tickets per workshop attendee.
