This workshop will require two people working together to create one piece (fit to one of the participants). The pair can either be an adult and child or two adults.
This team workshop will cover the ins and outs of making your own costumes at home with everyday materials. Two people (either adult and child or two adults) will work together to make one piece that is tailored to fit one of the participants. During the workshop we will work on making our own helmets/masks/headdresses using craft foam. We will make personalized templates, so your headpiece fits you perfectly. We will discuss using cardboard to make props and accessories and cover some painting techniques to put the final touch on your handmade masterpiece.
Please note that your workshop ticket does not include admission to the Maryland Science Center. All participants and their families will receive a special rate of $15 per person. This discount will be available for purchase the day of the workshop at the ticket desk. A maximum of 5 discounted tickets per workshop attendee.
